REPAIRS

Band Instrument Repairs

From a quick fix to a full overhaul, if it's a band instrument, we can fix it. Stringer's Band Room is a small-but-mighty, one-technician shop in Webster, NY, serving musicians all over greater Rochester. Beginners, students, and pros alike. Bring it in gross and leaky; leave playing awesome the first time. That's the whole idea.

What We Repair

Brass and Woodwind, Beginner to Professional

Brass: trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, French horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium, and tuba

Woodwind: flute, piccolo, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone

Before: dried, crumbling tenon cork that leaks air and kills tone

After: a fresh cork for a tight, air-sealed fit!

Everyday Repairs & Playing Condition Fixes

Most instruments that come through just need to play right again. That's the bread and butter:

  • Sticky, leaky, or worn-out pads

  • New corks and felts

  • Sluggish or stuck valves

  • Small dents and tuning-slide pulls

  • Springs, key adjustments, and regulation

  • Cleanings for brass and woodwind

  • Get-it-playing tune-ups before concert season

Not sure what your instrument needs? That's what the free estimate is for. Tell us what it's doing (or not doing) and we'll take a look.

Stuck? Seized?

A frozen valve or a stuck tuning slide is one of the most common things we see — and one of the easiest to make worse by yanking on it. Put down the pliers and hammer. Bring it in and we'll free it up the right way, without damaging the finish or the tubing.
